Glasses are used for vision correction or as eye protection aids. They consist of frames and lenses.
We divide our glasses, sunglasses, sports glasses, protective glasses and fashion glasses depending on their purpose. They can also be combined with one another to serve multiple purposes. Special glasses represents another specific category.
We divide our frames based on the material they are made from, e.g., metal (steel, titanium, carbon) or plastic (predominantly, an acetate compound). More recently, there has been an increase in popularity of wooden and horn-rimmed glasses. The purpose of combining various materials is to achieve better mechanical durability or a more interesting look.
Based on the way the lenses are mounted in the frames, we divide our glasses into the following types:
- full rim glasses – the lenses are inserted and held in place in the frames by faceted fitting rivets.
- half rim glasses – the lenses are inserted and held in place by a silicone cord fixed in a groove milled into the lower portion of the lens
- rimless glasses, or drill-mounted glasses – the lenses are held in place by screws or rivets with silicone plugs.
Frames consist of the centre piece with the lenses, a bridge and two temples. The centre is usually fitted with a bridge (especially in the case of plastic frames) or plastic nose pads (metal frames). The temples may be fitted with plastic temple tips and hooked behind the ear, copying the shape of the auricle, or they may be straight (especially in the case of sports frames), going along the ears all the way to the crown of the head.
We offer glasses in various price categories. We are able to cater to the needs of the most demanding customer looking primarily for luxurious designs and originality, as well as to customers who place a greater emphasis on functionality. The prices of our frames range from CZK 500 to CZK 15,000.
